About
Financial thinking made simple.
Hey, I’m Dexter — a seafarer, farmer, and a dad navigating money and life.
For years, I’ve lived between different worlds — working at sea, managing life back home, and making the most out of every hard-earned income. Like many, I didn’t start with a perfect financial plan. I made mistakes, learned the hard way, and slowly began to understand what actually works when it comes to money.
This blog is where I share that journey.
I share practical insights on saving, investing, and managing money better — not from theory, but from real-life experience. No complicated terms, no hype. Just honest lessons and decisions that happen in everyday life.
This blog is built on a simple idea: money shouldn’t be complicated.
Most people don’t struggle because they lack discipline—they struggle because financial advice is often confusing, overwhelming, or disconnected from real life.
This blog exists to change that.
The more clearly you understand money, the easier your decisions become.
My Story
I didn’t grow up with a clear understanding of money. Like many, I worked hard, earned, spent, and figured things out along the way.
Working as a seafarer taught me the value of income — long hours, time away from family, and the reality that every dollar earned comes with a cost. At the same time, being a farmer and a dad grounded me in responsibility — thinking long-term, providing stability, and making sure every decision mattered.
But even with income coming in, I realized something important: earning more doesn’t automatically mean progressing financially.
I made mistakes. I delayed decisions. I overlooked opportunities. And at times, I felt like I was working hard without moving forward as much as I should.
That’s when I started paying closer attention — learning how money actually works, understanding my habits, and making more intentional decisions.
Not overnight. Not perfectly. But consistently.
This blog is a result of that process — sharing what I’ve learned, what I’m still learning, and what truly works in real life.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about money — it’s about building a more secure, stable, and meaningful life for the people who matter most.
What I Believe About Money
Money should be simple.
If something feels overly complicated, it usually means it hasn’t been explained clearly enough.
Clarity beats complexity.
You don’t need more information — you need better understanding.
Small decisions matter more than big moments.
Consistency in everyday choices shapes long-term results.
Income alone doesn’t build progress.
How you manage, think, and decide about money matters more.
There are no shortcuts.
Real financial progress is built over time, through discipline and better decisions.
