Starting Over (Again): Maybe This One Stays

I’ve started more blogs than I can remember—and I’ve abandoned almost just as many.

You’d think that after nearly two decades of blogging (I started back in 2006), I would’ve figured it out by now. A niche. A clear audience. A solid direction.

But no.

Here I am again, launching another one.

At this point, I’ve accepted a simple truth: I’m a blogger who doesn’t really know what to blog about.

And somehow, I’m okay with that.

What I do know is this—I enjoy the process. The writing, the idea of sharing something, the feeling of starting fresh. Even if it means paying for hosting, spending hours thinking of the “perfect” domain name, and convincing myself, this is it… this one will stick.

Spoiler alert: it never does.

Over the years, I’ve gone through more domains than I care to admit: seawayexplorer.com, pinoybro.com, wanderingmariner.com, iamdex.com, lanaodelnortehanon.com… and now, dextersdigest.com.

Each one started with excitement. Each one quietly faded.

And now I’m here again, with the same question lingering in the background:

What’s next?

Funny thing is, my mind is already trying to come up with another domain name. I don’t even know what it is yet—but I know that itch is there.

But maybe this time, I’ll do things differently.

Maybe I’ll stop chasing the perfect niche, the perfect audience, the perfect “branding.”

Maybe I’ll just write.

About life. About random thoughts. About the everyday moments that usually go unnoticed.

No pressure. No expectations.

Just a blog that feels… real.

Maybe that’s what this is.

Maybe this is finally the one that stays.

Or maybe not.

Either way, I’m writing again—and that’s a good place to start.
