My First Weeks With the Chery Tiggo Grand Tour: Family Comfort & Power

Chery Tiggo Grand Tour 2025

After finally getting behind the wheel of my brand new Chery Tiggo Grand Tour, I can confidently say this SUV is built for families who value comfort, and space.

Switching to Chery was a big move for me. I’ve always leaned toward the more familiar and popular brands — Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and even Ford. But a good friend of mine, who has been driving his Tiggo for over three years now, shared something that stuck with me:
he hasn’t had a single major or costly repair since he bought it.

Hearing that from someone I trust made me look at Chery with fresh eyes… and eventually take the leap.

One of the biggest reasons I chose this unit is its 7-seating capacity. For my family, that’s a must. Everyone fits comfortably — no one fighting for legroom, no one squeezed in the back like luggage. Whether it’s a grocery run or a weekend outing, the Tiggo Grand Tour just makes everything feel effortless.

And oh — the glass sunroof. Or moonroof… whatever you want to call it. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite features. It brightens the cabin, adds a premium touch, and makes every ride feel lighter and more enjoyable. During day drives, it feels like bringing a bit of the sky inside the car — a small feature that makes a big difference.

A few days after getting the unit, I also had the chance to test the Tiggo Grand Tour on a real challenge. My family and I visited Hoyohoy View Deck, which sits roughly 1,000 feet above sea level. The road going up is steep, winding, and the kind that really exposes a car’s weaknesses. But the Tiggo’s 1.5 engine didn’t disappoint at all. It climbed confidently, handled the slope without struggling, and felt more powerful than I expected for its size. Some people say turning off the AC helps on steep climbs — I’m not sure how true that is — but even with the AC running the whole way, the Tiggo pulled through like a champ.

As for everyday performance, the 1.5-liter engine continues to impress me. It’s not just smooth and responsive — it’s fuel efficient. For a 7-seater SUV, that’s a huge win. Every kilometer feels economical, and that’s something every driver appreciates, especially with today’s fuel prices.

I’ll be adding more updates soon as I take this car on more trips. But for now, my first impression is simple: The Tiggo Grand Tour is practical, stylish, powerful, and perfect for a family like mine.
