I’m literally writing this blog right now midair, on a Qatar Airways flight from London to Doha aboard their B777-300ER — and I have to say, I’m absolutely blown away.
Airplane Wi-Fi has never impressed me much in the past. Usually, it’s just enough to check emails or send a quick message if you’re patient. But this time? Totally different story.
I decided to test the speed, and here’s what I got:
📶 Download speed: 234.93 Mbps
📶 Upload speed: 39.97 Mbps
Yes, you read that right — in the middle of the sky, at 35,000 feet. And the craziest part? I’m not in First or Business Class. I’m sitting right here in Economy, and the internet is still lightning-fast.
The secret behind this next-level experience? SpaceX Starlink. Qatar Airways has been fitting their B777 fleet with Starlink-powered internet, and now they’ve started rolling it out to their A350s as well. That means more and more passengers will soon get to enjoy this insane connectivity across the airline’s long-haul network.
I’ve been streaming, uploading, browsing — everything just works seamlessly. No buffering, no lag, nothing that screams “airplane internet.” Honestly, it feels faster than what I sometimes get at home.
This is the future of flying. Imagine working mid-flight, uploading your travel vlogs before you even land, or video calling family while crossing continents. Thanks to Qatar Airways and SpaceX Starlink, it’s now possible.
So here I am, flying somewhere over the clouds, sipping my coffee, typing this blog, and just marveling at the fact that I’m connected to the world at insane speeds. Qatar Airways, you’ve set the bar sky-high — literally.
Alright, signing off now before we start our descent into Doha. Can’t wait to see what’s waiting on the ground — but for now, I’ll just keep enjoying this unreal Wi-Fi in the sky.
