3 Days and 2 Nights Siquijor Itinerary

After about a month of planning, our much-awaited family trip to Siquijor finally happened! It was a 3-day, 2-night itinerary that my son and I carefully put together.

Now, you might be asking—is 3 days and 2 nights enough to explore Siquijor? The answer is: yes and no.

Yes, if you just want to visit the main tourist spots—the popular ones that most people go for. But if you’re the type who loves to really explore a place, take your time, and go beyond the usual stops, then you’ll need more than 3 days. A week would be perfect for that kind of trip.

In our case, we had work and other family commitments waiting for us, so staying longer wasn’t an option. But honestly, 3 days and 2 nights was just right for a quick yet meaningful getaway.

In this blog, I’ll share our 3-day, 2-night itinerary—perfect for first-timers in Siquijor.

Tip: If it’s your first time, I recommend booking a tour package that includes a van. It’s more convenient when going around the island. However, it’s better to book your accommodation separately. That way, you have more choices for where to stay, depending on your budget and style.

Day 1 – Island Highlights Tour

We started our adventure right after arriving on the island. It was a full day of hopping from one spot to another, taking in the best of what Siquijor has to offer.

1. Welcome to Siquijor and I Love Siquijor Signage

Our first stop—because no trip really starts without a photo at the welcome sign! The “Welcome to Siquijor” signage is right in front of the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church, one of the island’s oldest and most charming churches.

Just nearby at the Siquijor town plaza, you’ll also find the “I Love Siquijor” sign—another must-snap spot. What’s unexpectedly fun here? The birds… or maybe pigeons? 😂 They casually roam around and come really close to people like they own the place. Totally unbothered and not scared of humans at all. We were entertained!

2. Pitogo Cliff

Pitogo Cliff

A peaceful coastal spot with dramatic rock formations and amazing ocean views. It’s a nice stop for photos and enjoying the sea breeze. While some say it’s a cliff diving spot, it’s not recommended—and during our visit, no one was jumping. Better to just take in the view and stay safe.

3. Balete Tree with Fish Spa

3 days and 2 nights Siquijor itinerary

Balete Tree

Back in our hometown, we usually avoid Balete trees at all costs—you know, out of respect for the otherworldly residents we believe might be living there. 😂 But here in Siquijor? The Balete tree is a full-on tourist stop! This centuries-old tree has a natural spring at its base where tiny fish give you a free spa treatment (aka nibble on your feet). Creepy? A little. Ticklish? Definitely. Fun? Surprisingly, yes!

4. Hapitanan Broomstick Ride

Hapitanan Broom Stick

Now this one’s for the wannabe witches and wizards out there—Hapitanan is the place where you can pose mid-air on a broomstick with the scenic hills of Siquijor in the background. It’s like a mini Hogwarts moment… island edition! 😂 They’ve got a setup that makes you look like you’re flying, and the staff are pros at helping you nail that perfect “lift-off” shot.

We had a good laugh trying to get the timing right—lots of awkward jumps, weird faces, and off-balance landings before finally nailing a decent shot. But hey, it’s all part of the fun. Just don’t forget to stretch—broomstick flying is not as easy as it looks!

5. Lazi Church

3 days and 2 nights Siquijor itinerary

Lazi Church

Also known as San Isidro Labrador Church, this centuries-old structure is one of the most iconic landmarks in Siquijor—and it definitely lives up to the hype. Built in the late 1800s, it’s made of coral stones and hardwood, and still stands strong today. The atmosphere inside is peaceful and almost cinematic—think antique wooden pews, high ceilings, and a sense of calm that instantly makes you lower your voice. You can’t help but pause and take it all in. Bonus: the church still holds regular masses, so you might catch the locals quietly coming and going in their Sunday best.

6. Lazi Convent

Lazi Convent

Just across the street from the church is the Lazi Convent, one of the largest and oldest convents in the Philippines. And yes, it’s huge—this two-storey structure was built in 1887 and used to house Spanish priests during the Spanish colonial period. Now, it’s partially converted into a museum. Walking through its wide wooden corridors feels like stepping into a history book. It creaks under your feet, the windows are massive, and the whole place has that old-world charm that makes you wonder about all the stories these walls have seen. It’s both beautiful and slightly eerie—perfect for history buffs or anyone who loves that old-Spanish-colonial feel.

7. Cambugahay Falls

3 days and 2 nights Siquijor itinerary

Cambughaay Falls

This was high on our list! The plan was to do the famous “fairy walk” for that dreamy, flowy photo moment. But—plot twist—Ann Curtis recently did it, and her video went viral. So by the time we got there, the line for the fairy walk looked like a mall sale on payday. 😂 We ended up skipping it and just enjoyed the view and the refreshing water instead. Still worth it!

8. Salagdoong Beach

3 days and 2 nights Siquijor itinerary

Salagdoong Beach

Salagdoong Beach is one of the more developed beach spots in Siquijor—and it’s known far and wide for one thing: cliff diving. But don’t worry if you’re not into launching yourself off a ledge into the ocean (we weren’t either 😅). The cliffs are still fun to visit, even just for watching other brave souls take the plunge while you cheer them on safely from the sidelines.

The beach itself has clear, blue-green water and a smooth shoreline perfect for swimming or just chilling. There are even concrete slides built into the rock—though we weren’t quite sure if they were meant for adults or just brave kids! The area is managed, so expect some amenities like restrooms and small food stalls.

It may not be the most remote or serene beach on the island, but it definitely offers a bit of excitement and a different kind of beach vibe. If you’re after a mix of scenery and action, this spot delivers!

Day 2 – Adventure-Filled Day

Our second day was packed with adventure and probably the highlight of our whole trip. We explored Sambulawan Underground River, which turned out to be the most interesting and unforgettable stop in our itinerary. The rest of the day was a mix of nature, waterfalls, and chill time at a cozy café.

Sambulawan Underground River

This place is a must-visit! We put on life jackets and swam through the underground river with a local guide leading the way. It was dark, mysterious, and incredibly beautiful inside—definitely the most unique experience we had in Siquijor.

2. Laga-an Falls

3 days and 2 nights Siquijor itinerary

Laga-an Falls

A peaceful spot with shallow pools and natural slides. Less crowded than Cambugahay, and perfect for a relaxing swim.

3. Bucafe

3 days and 2 nights Siquijor itinerary

Bucafe

We wrapped up our second day at Bucafe, a charming little café tucked in the hills of Siquijor—and honestly, it was the perfect spot to slow down after all the waterfalls and underground river adventures. The view here is chef’s kiss: you’re surrounded by trees, rolling hills, and off in the distance, the sea. It’s peaceful, breezy, and gives you that “I could stay here all afternoon” kind of feeling.

The café itself has a homey vibe—wooden interiors, open-air seating, and friendly staff. We ordered coffee (of course), and some snacks to go with it. Nothing fancy, but the kind of simple and warm setup that makes you feel instantly relaxed.

It’s one of those places where you just want to sip slowly, chat quietly, and take deep breaths of fresh mountain air. If you’re the type who likes hidden gems and good coffee with a view, Bucafe is a must.

If you’re visiting Siquijor for the first time, a 3-day, 2-night itinerary is a great start. I recommend booking a van tour package for convenience, especially if you’re a group or traveling with family. Just book your hotel or resort separately, so you have more options depending on your budget and preferences.

Siquijor may be small, but it’s filled with magic, charm, and natural beauty. We’ll definitely be back one day—with more time to explore!
